Robin Meacher, (She/Her)

Why Do You Bike? Biking pulls me out of my overly critical brain and helps remind me that progression and fun can go together. Being on the bike is another way for me to engage with the world around me, people and the natural environment, in a positive way.

Favorite trail snack: Jerky, like really tough salty jerky. And pickles. And gummy bears.

27.5 or 29? Currently on 29 and love it for the distance rides and how they eat a feature, but dang the 27.5 are great fun for playing around.

Favorite Trail System: Locally Whypass is my favorite. The Mount Hough and Downieville trails in the Lost Sierra hold my heart though.

Rain or Sun: Both! But in all honesty, sun.

Lucy Scholz, (She/Her)

Why Do You Bike? I ride my bike because it’s the part of my life where I can feel the most confident and proud of myself. It gives me the most incredible feeling of freedom, power and happiness!

Favorite trail snack: A whole cucumber and some sort of juicy candy- Hi-Chew’s are a current favorite.

27.5 or 29? Mullet for life baby.

Favorite Trail System: I love to ride in Bellingham, WA at Mt. Galbraith!

Rain or Sun: I have definitely learned to love riding in the rain and getting absolutely sloppy in the mud- But it took a long time to get there!

Anya Vollstedt, (She/Her)

Why Do You Bike? I enjoy biking because it’s challenging, rewarding, and takes me to beautiful places with wonderful people! I love my bike friends!! Seeing progress on specific trails is always exciting and keeps me wanting to learn more.

Favorite trail snack: I try to pack as much food as possible into my fanny pack. Currently I am into those little packs of olives or wasabi flavored almonds (salt baby!) After a ride or during a break, a cara cara orange is the best

27.5 or 29? Changing to a 29” made me a better rider!

Favorite Trail System: Jug mountain in McCall, Idaho, and I sure enjoy a day at Alsea Falls!

Rain or Sun: Light sun! Biking on an overcast day is the best!

Alexandria Smyth, (She/Her)

Why Do You Bike?  Mountain biking has shown me to appreciate my body for all the amazing things it can do! It has shown some of the most beautiful places on earth and given me some of my most cherished friendships. I bike because it is what makes me tick, feeds my spirit and soothes my soul!

Favorite trail snack: cold pizza & sour watermelon rings!

27.5 or 29?   29 life and never lookin’ back!

Favorite Trail System: I have a soft spot in my heart for Alsea Falls, it’s where I learned to mountain bike!

Rain or Sun: Sunshine all the way!!

Aparna Rajagopal, (She/Her)

Why Do You Bike? I ride my bike because it helps me connect with nature, community, and my own body. I ride because moving through single tracks amongst trees, ferns, and other forest friends helps me stay grounded in the present instead of succumbing to my anxieties and despair about life and the future. I ride to resist the consistent messages that I and other women of color (and especially middle-aged women of color) receive that we do not belong in these spaces. I ride to power my transportation with my body rather than fossil fuels.

Favorite trail snack: Gummy Bears!

27.5 or 29? 29

Favorite Trail System: My favorite ride was a daylong adventure up the Ape Canyon Trail to the base of Loowit (Mount St. Helens).

Rain or Sun: I won’t lie. I’m a fair weather rider.

Rain or Sun: Overcast, but not raining.

Althea Sullivan, (She/Her)

Why Do You Bike? On a mountain bike I find joy in sections of trail that feel fun, or inspire me to push my riding and learn something new. On the road/gravel biking lets me slow down to experience a place at a speed that lets me see things I would not otherwise see.

Favorite trail snack: Super boring, but I usually just go with a bar. Once I am done riding, or if I am on a road ride I won’t pass up ice cream though.

27.5 or 29? 27.5, but debating adding another bike to the collection.

Favorite Trail System: All of the trails in the Eugene Springfield area, if you’ve got the trails enjoy them. Out of the Eugene area, the riding in Ashland and Hood River is great.

Rain or Sun: Overcast, but not raining.

Jenny Schrock, (She/Her)

Why do you bike? I bike because it allows me to challenge myself and connect with the world around me. I love riding through the forest, taking in the sights and sounds. It reminds me of all the amazing things my body can accomplish and pushes me to improve and try new things.

Fav trail snack: Fruit snacks!! Of any kind.

27.5 or 29? 27.5!

Favorite trail system? Around town, Whypass is my favorite. But Galbraith in Washington is amazing!

Rain or sun? Both! But sunshine is best.

Aolani Onatah, (She/Her)

Why Do You Bike? Riding makes me feel free! I grew up cruising my neighborhood on my bike and it has always given me a sense of autonomy. Mountain biking just takes it to the next level. Hill bombing is my favorite!

Favorite trail snack: Homemade protein muffins

27.5 or 29?: I love a mullet!

Favorite Trail System: Whypass! I learned so many skills here and I love exploring

Rain or Sun: I love a little bit of both! My perfect conditions would be a light drizzle and slightly sloppy.
